The Ytel family is continuing to grow, and we are currently looking to add a member to our already amazing team. We are looking for a Lead Technical Writer who can be the face and voice of the Ytel API in the developer community. Ensuring our product set’s its users up for success and makes the experience second to none! Most importantly, we need someone with a passion for technology, who gets excited about the idea of leaving their fingerprints on change!

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Owning the API documentation - Ensuring that our product, as consumed by a developer, has a consistent voice, maintains a usable information architecture, and meets the expectations of a developer
  • Building use case examples - Because software companies are only limited by their imagination on what they can build using Ytel APIs, the Developer Advocate will document step by step instructions on how to build specific capabilities using the Ytel programmable communication APIs
  • Acting as an advocate for developers - Helping developers solve communication initiatives by hosting webinars, speaking at engagements or participating in online forums on how to use Ytel Programmable APIs
  • Writing general API or Engineering specific blog articles
  • In addition to owning API documentation, you will be responsible for all OpenAPI/Swagger documentation and functionality

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Relevant experience as a Software Engineer, Developer Evangelist or Developer Advocate
  • Expert written communication skills and the ability to convey concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • The ability to pick up and understand an API just by looking at documentation
  • A passion for the API space and desire to impact a multitude of industries
  • You get excited about the idea of disruptive technology
  • Someone who is a stickler for clean and easy to use documentation
